Jan 04:Westside gain revenge on Kingston to step up title challenge

Westside travelled to Chessington to take on the unbeaten league leaders, Kingston Wildcats, looking to avenge their 8 point defeat back in October. The team from Shepherds Bush started off with great defensive intensity and raced into a 11 - 3 lead early in the first quarter before Kingston scored 4 consecutive points to end the quarter. The second quarter was fairly even as both sides scored 14 points but it was Westside who went into the half in the lead.

After the break, Westside came out with renewed intensity creating numerous turnovers with their pressure defence and converting into easy layups to open up an 18 points lead at the end of the third quarter. Kingston switched to a zone to start the fourth but Westside continued to find open gaps to score whilst continuing to play aggressive defence. The final score was 57 - 29. The leading scorer in the game was Amanda Porter with 27 points.
