Jan 04:Women start '04 with a victory

The womens team travelled to Osterley to take on Cardinals in the Womens Premier League. Unbeaten in their last six games, Westside needed to win to keep pace with the unbeaten league leaders, Kingston Wildcats. With that in mind, Westside were simply scintillating in the opening quarter with aggressive team defence and uptempo offence to establish a 36 - 8 lead and this set the pattern for the rest of the game. The final score was 112 - 28. The games highest scorers were Ritta Petisala (22 points), Amanda Porter (20 points) and Eleni Kerchoglou (20 points).

Coach Frank Lamptey commented "It was a aggressive performance from the team and exactly what we needed going into the next series of games against the top teams in the League in the next few weeks.
