Mar 05: Westside end season with empahatic display against Bognor In their final home game of the regular season, Westside entertained the home crowd with an enthralling display of basketball to defeat the Bognor Pirates 104 - 61. Westside raced into a lead in the first quarter and never looked back as they continually blitzed the visitors with their transition game and perimeter shooting for a 12 point lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second, the home team began to apply the pressure defensively as the held their opponents to only 11 points in the quarter and the halftime core was 62 - 31. The onslaught continued in the third as Bognor clearly had no answer to the superior speed of Westside and it was only in the fourth, that they began to use their superior height advantage. However, it was too late by then and Westside finished easy winners to cement their position in second place in the league with a record of 15 wins and three losses in their first season of National League competition. Coach Frank Lamptey commented "This was an overwhelming performance and just what we needed to bounce back from last weeks disappointment. We still have the playoffs in two weeks to play for so our focus will shift to that as we aim to show that we are the best team".
